Rolando Reyes, Sr. (Maker of Puros Indios and Cuba Aliados) watches over the production of every cigar emerging from his atelier in Danli, Honduras. That’s where he produces the renowned Puros Indios and Cuba Aliados. In fact, it’s because of his eagle eye and years of cigar making expertise that Roly even exists. In the production of his prized puros, when one doesn’t pass muster, it’s culled out to become a Roly. Perhaps it’s an ever-so-slight color variation or even a minuscule blemish that only his experienced eye can distinguish. It doesn’t take much. Things that would escape the notice of those of us who lack his keen perception are the very ones that catch his attention.
